As you may or may not know, I am a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, along with my brother Nick. We just got back for our 373 fall Field Day tour of Duty to Sofia, Bulgaria and Istanbul, Turkey. Here are some of the highlights of our trip. Sofia is one of the oldest cities in the world, about 7000 years old and was locked behind the Iron Curtin in recent history. On October 3rd we started our day with a mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, and then paraded down the main street in uniform following the American Flag to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for a wreath laying ceremony. We then went to the American embassy for lunch and to mingle with the embassy employees, the ambassador and the local veterans from Sofia, awesome. The next day October 4th we again marched from the hotel to the American Embassy to dedicate a monument made, paid for by our members and delivered by the military. The next day we got up very early, went to the air port in uniform, flew to Ankara Turkey. Accompanied by the Turkish military, the American Ambassador to Turkey and paraded into Mausoleum for a wreath laying ceremony at the tomb of Ataturk. We then proceeded to the American Embassy for lunch with the Ambassador and his staff, Wow. We then flew to Istanbul Turkey for the next leg of our trip.  On October 7th we toured the city, including the Hippodrome, and ancient stadium, the blue Mosque, world famous for 20,000 blue Turkish tiles.  We also saw the Sunk in Palace supported by 336 Corinthian columns. We also toured eth Topkapi Palace, from the Ottoman Empire and its historic treasury. The next day we visited the covered Bazaar, oldest and largest in the world, lots of bargains and lots of people. On October 9th we got up very early, went to the air port, flew to Izmir, took a bus to Ephesus and toured one of the most magnificent ancient ruins from early Christianity. We proceeded to take a bus up to the very top of the highest peak I could see, to visit the house of the Virgin Mary, where it is believed, she lived out her life. We had a mass at the site.  Came home on October 11th. This was one of the most memorable trips for my life, that’s why I thought I would share this experience with you.

It’s Friday the 14th and I finally had a good game of golf yesterday, shot a 43 (I know it’s good for me) and more importantly beat George. I wanted to tell you about a new listing in Foxboro, came on yesterday, Lots of potential, full shed dormered Cape with 2 large bedrooms up and full bath, 1st floor den and office could be 3rd and 4th bdrms, L shaped living room, large working kitchen and formal dining room, all hardwood floors, play room is 2 car garage with 1 garage door, separate heat, floor drain and bar. Wow, what a day, I love this time of year. All the azaleas, lilacs and wisterias are popping and everything is a different shade of green, just beautiful. All I need is some time to golf and sail to make my life perfect. I just listed a beautiful 3 bedroom colonial with a 2nd floor family room, could be a 4th bedroom. This house has a formal living room and dining room with built in hutch and a large eat in kitchen, great condition. It also has a very inviting in ground pool with new liner and a patio. The best part is the price, only $368 in Norwood, on a great street. Please keep me in mind if you know anyone that may need my services, I’m never too busy for your referrals. Have a great Spring.

April Vacation

I’m just back from Myrtle Beach school vacation week. Great time, bike riding on the beach, football, golfing, the whole nine yards. What a nice place to vacation, can’t wait to go back some day. We did Hilton Head a few years ago, I think I like that even better. If you ever get the chance, you should check it you, I think you will like it down there. At this time of year its 70’s most days and 60’s at night. Now, it’s back to work. I do have a great house for sale at 45 Maverick St. Dedham. It’s a 3 bedroom colonial, 2 baths, and large yard in good condition for $299k. I also have a 3500 sq ft condo in Norton, 4 bedrooms, 4 baths, unbelievable space and fabulous condition for $359K. If you know anyone looking, please do me a favor and give me a call with their contact info. I promise I will take very good care of anyone you refer to me. I’m never too busy for your referrals. Thank you in advance, have a great day.

Beautiful Day

Hope you had a nice Easter break, wow, nice day. We did the Brunch at Sea Port Hotel, awesome. Always great to spend time with he family and take a day off. Then with a Sox comeback over the Yankees, that was the icing on the cake. I enjoyed the weekend thoroughly. I’m back at work, if you know someone that can use my services; I’m never too busy for your referrals. Thank you in advance for anyone you recommend to me, I’ll take good care of them. Have a great week, 80′s on Wednesday.

Flavors

Last night was the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerece Flavors night, they had over 50 vendors put out a taste of their restaurants, wow, what a great night. Not sure of the final count, but I thing there was close to 500 people. Next year when I tell you about this event, come. It’s well worth your time, I had a ball and saw lots of local business people I haven’t seen in a long time. Anyone that didn’t have fun it was their own fault. On another note I just listed a 3500 sq ft condo on Spring st in Norton. This is the most beautiful units I ever saw. 3.5 baths, 1st floor master suite, finished basement and more. Go to my site, donaldschiarizzi.com to see photos and the complete listing information. If you know someone who can use my services, please call or email me immediately. Thank you in advance for thinking of me, you know, I’m never too busy for your referrals. Have a great weekend.

Toys for Tots

My office is the drop spot for “Toys for Tots”, please donate, it’s a really good cause. Deadline for dropping off unwrapped toys, at my office 95 Eastern Ave #2 Dedham Ma., is December 7th. I would be happy to pick anything up if you don’t have the means of delivering them. Feel free to call me 781-254-2220 to make arrangements.
I am now trying to help people buy that larger house or better schools or in a more expensive neighborhood.
There has never been a better time to buy up. Historically low rates, Prices, below market value, in some cases and government money, WOW.
Are you or do you know someone thinking of buying a larger house? Call me to find out if they qualify for $14,500 in stimulus benefits?
Because the new stimulus program is a tax credit, it does not need to be repaid. Who’s the next person you know who should find out if they qualify for the $14,500 in benefits?

Happy Thanksgiving

Here it is, thanksgiving week, I celebrated this past weekend with the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts in the Plymouth Thanksgiving Day Parade, Saturday. I couldn’t believe how many people were there, very patriotic and fun.
Good win for the Pats yesterday and I’m going to the Celtics Wednesday night, also looking good. What a great time in history to be a Boston sports fan.
I am working on getting the word out to potential buy up people that are not sure if they qualify for the $14,500 in stimulus benefits. Great news on the Real estate front with the new stimulus signed into law. I am now on a buy up campaign to help people buy that larger house or in more expensive neighborhood. There has never been a better time to buy up. Low rates, great opportunities and government money, WOW.

Veteran’s Day

I spent Veterans Day at the state house, honering our veterans and armed forces with the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts. Please keep in your prayers all the men and woman fighting to preserve our freedom.

Not sure if you heard but the stimulus has been extended until April 2010. This is great news for the industry. Historically the best time to buy a house has been extended into next year. If you know anyone that felt they missed the boat or are thinking of buying up into a larger house or more expensive area, in the next 6 months, please give me a call with their name and number. There has never been a time like this to buy up, into a larger house. With prices down and rates down it’s a great opportunity but through in $8000 for your buyer, that just makes it spectacular. I need your help getting the word out and I’m never too busy for your referrals. Please keep me in mind. Have a Safe and Happy Halloween.
